Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-10; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 8 - 9. Distinguished from all Atlantic Canthigaster species (except C. supramacula) by the absence of longitudinal dark stripes on the side of the body or caudal peduncle. Distinguished from C. supramacula by the absence of a conspicuous dark spot on the dorsum (Ref. 43205).
