Dorsal spines (total): 30 - 32; Dorsal soft rays (total): 6-8; Anal spines: 2; Anal soft rays: 22 - 24. Pelvic fin rays thick, finger-like, reaching about halfway to anus (Ref. 9002). Variable from almost black to yellow-brown; adults with silvery-white blotches in series anteriorly on sides (Ref. 9002).
