Can be easily distinguished from all other species of Adrianichthyidae by the combination of the following characters: jaws subequal, 24-27 anal fin rays, eye conspicuously smaller than snout, about 75-85 scales in lateral row, 11-13 branched dorsal rays (Ref. 26747).
