Biology
Dorsal soft rays (total): 91-93. Nostril slit-like. Tongue slender with many irregular villiform tooth patches. First spine of dorsal fin elongate. First anal fin ray scale-like, other embedded; pelvic fins reduced to scale-like spines. Pectoral fins triangular in shape. Body is silvery white, all fins pale brown, opercle lining blackish.
