Dorsal spines (total): 0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-18; Anal spines: 0; Anal soft rays: 17 - 19. Body slender or moderate. Scutes (16 to 18 total) a little behind isthmus, very strongly keeled (even at 2.2 cm standard length). Lower jaw very slightly projecting, toothless; no teeth on pre-maxillae or maxillae; second supra-maxilla as deep as maxilla blade and with long slender anterior shaft. Pelvic fin insertion just below dorsal fin origin.
