The Burmese stream catfish (Akysis pictus) is a freshwater fish of the family Akysidae. Native range: Asia, Myanmar.

Biology

Dorsal spines (total): 1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 4; Vertebrae: 33 - 34. Posterior edge of pectoral spine without serrations. Body with a single dark yellow patch (actually 2 smaller coalescent patches) covering the dorsum from the origin of the adipose fin to the end of the caudal peduncle. Head length 24.4-24.5% SL; length of adipose fin base 22-23.6% SL; interorbital distance 34-39% HL; eye diameter 8-10% HL; length of nasal barbel 54-57% HL.
