Biology
Inhabit rocky littoral zones. Feed on algae that grows on rocks by scraping it off with its specialized teeth. Oviparous, eggs are pelagic and non-adhesive (Ref. 205). Probably caught incidentally with other mullets. May be found in Panama markets.
