Biology
Found in streams and rivers. Enters estuaries (Ref. 4833). Usually associated with streams having a gravel or sand substrates. Feeds mainly on filamentous algae and Diptera (Ref. 6028) and also small fishes and crustaceans (Ref. 12693). Not seen in market, but probably sold fresh (Ref. 12693).
