With one infraorbital bone without sensory canal behind the lacrimal; three unbranched dorsal-fin rays, the last one not enlarged or serrated; a large humeral spot, eventually superposed by a vertical bar, followed by 3-11 vertical bars, the first always under the dorsal-fin origin, and a caudal spot.
