Biology
Occurs mainly in shallow tributaries of a lake. Found also in shallow mouths of inlets along the shoreline. Occasionally forms large aggregations and prefers mainly very shallow depths of about 10 cm. Lives sympatrically with Xiphophorus hellerii.
